拍品專文

‘It would appear from Baldessari’s most recent work that after having met the master of the all-but-lifeless-likeness in those aesthetically suspect regions … Baldessari elected to replace Warhol’s acrylic splashes and squiggles with loopy facial accents and punctuation marks … that effectively transform Warhol’s malerisch deadpan into crisp diacritical mugging. Whether or not Warhol is the cause, such surely is the Baldesarri effect’
(R. Storr, ‘High Brow – Low Brow – Eyebrow’, John Baldessari Raised Eyebrows/Furrowed Foreheads, New York 2009, pp. 10 – 11).
