Provenance
Ann Hopkins Smith of Olney, Buckinghamshire, a Quaker philanthropist, (died 1851), by whom left to her relatives Stafford Allen, William Allen, and two others, S. Allen subsequently acquiring the other share (label on the backing board dated 1 August 1851), and thence by descent to the present owner.
