John Cyril Harrison LOTS 41-42 and 44-49 Harrison studied and sketched birds as a young man, improving his knowledge of anatomy through the practice of taxidermy. After serving in the First World War, he studied at the Slade School. He made regular visits to Scotland to observe Golden Eagles and visited Iceland to study its birdlife and landscape. Publications by Harrison include Bird Portraits, 1949, written and illustrated by Harrison, Pheasants of the World and the two volumed Birds of Prey of the World, 1968. In later life he was a regular visitor to Africa where he recorded both animal and bird life.
