Lot Essay

George Lodge's name is symonymous with the potrayal of birds of prey. A contemporary and friend of Archibald Thorburn, Lodge wrote Memoirs of an Artist Naturalist and illustrated D.A. Bannerman, The Birds of the British Isles, 12 volumes, 1953-63.
