Lot Essay

Lewis was only 16 when he made this study of a monkey belonging to Mrs Greenwood, the mother of Mrs Emily Calmady. The Greenwoods, an old Yorkshire family, settled at Brookwood Park, Hinton Ampner in Hampshire.
