Lot Essay

Between 1919 and 1932 Milne spent part of every year in France sometimes in Paris and at other times around St Tropez. He was there at the same time as Peploe, Cadell and Duncan Grant. The influence of his time in France on his oeuvre can be traced throughout the rest of his career.
