We are grateful to Drs Luuk Pijl for proposing the attribution on the basis of photographs, noting that 'the figures, the foliage and the hazily (almost pastel-like) painted backgrounds are characteristic for this prolific, late follower of Jan Brueghel' (private correspondence, 7 March 2007).
