Karoly Fulop worked in New York City during the 1920s and exhibited at both the Babcock Galleries and the Whitney Studio Club during that stage of his career. In the early 1930s, the artist moved to Los Angeles where he established a decorative arts school. One of Fulop's sculptures took first prize in 1937 at an exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. His work was also lauded at the 1939 Worlds Fair in New York.
