8° (160 x 100mm). Presentation inscription in the hand of the author (but partially erased) on a leaf from another copy bound in before the title. Green morocco, gilt, covers with triple filet gilt borders, spine gilt in six sections with gilt urn and bird tools, gilt inner dentelles, t.e.g. by Francis Bedford, cloth folder and slipcase.

The rare FIRST EDITION in fine condition. This was Lamb's first attempt at writing plays, written in the Elizabethan manner. The poem 'To Helen' is Mary Lamb's first appearance in print. Ashley 3:40
