Lot Essay

Correspondence from the Leica Museum and Archive of Leica Camera AG in Solms (which will be sold with the camera) states: 'I have examined the un-numbered Leica camera and can confirm that the camera was made by E. Leitz, Wetzlar, circa 1927 as a prototype model of the Leica I. The camera parts are authentic and are factory made'.
