Lettre des huit Notables de la Halle a monsieur Necker L'Ami du Peuple
a printed fan, the leaf a hand-coloured etching eight traders decorating a buste of Necker, the reserves stencilled in gold with a trellis, the verso inscribed with the text of the letter, dated 15 Janvier 1789, and six verses of song: Ils n'vouliont pas d'Tiers etat/Dit on Messieurx ces Notabes...to the Air. Recois dans ton Galetas, with bone sticks, the guardsticks silvered - 11in. (27cm.), French, early 1789 (old repairs to verso)
