With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic balance, wound alternatively by the oscillating segmental weight or by key, hinged cuvette engraved Patent Perpetual, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands, two subsidiary dials indicating 56 hours power reserve and subsidiary seconds, in circular engine-turned case, case and cuvette numbered and stamped with London datemark for 1882, dial signed

Jürgen Abeler's Meister der Uhrmacherkunst lists the engineer A. v. Löhr, Vienna, who was granted a patent for his self-winding movement on 10 January 1878. It is thought that watches fitted with such a movement were then produced by his London based company, the Selfwinding Watch Co.
