Although this dresser can be provenanced to the Isle of Man, no dressers from the island have been recorded with integral size (see B. Cotton Manx Traditional Furniture, Isle of Man, 1993). We may therefore look to the West Country as a possible origin where for example the dresser in the kitchen of Avebury Manor, Wiltshire has the same feature of integral size.
