Crossbanded overall with tulipwood and inlaid with ebony and boxwood lines, each later decorated with a foliate-wrapped fan-shaped medallion, one with Cupid flanked by classical maidens emblematic of the musical arts, the other the decorative arts, within a foliate arabesque border, the hinged top enclosing a red felt-lined playing surface, the panelled frieze decorated with further foliate arabesques, on foliate-trailed square tapering legs with tapering block feet, the painted decoration late 19th early 20th Century, one leg spliced, two legs restored, each inscribed Mrs Howard
