The shaded aubergine field with small rosettes around a column of three roundels, the central with three concentric bands of rosettes, the upper and lower with a band of pomegranite vine around a radiating flowerhead, the spandrels with key-pattern, in an aubergine rosette border between inner key-pattern and outer cloud and wave, meandering angular vine and plain stripes, even wear, slight loss at each end, small repairs and repiling
Approximately 11ft.11in. x 6ft.4in. (363cm. x 193cm.)
Warp: white cotton Z4S, at edges slightly depressed and slightly undulating, generally considerably depressed and undulating
Weft: 3 shoots, wool, brown, dark brown, and white threads, sometimes giving a violet sheen, first and third undulating, second somewhat more so
Pile: wool, Z2-3S, rarely Z4S, asymmetrical open to the left, H3.1 x V2.1/cm.
