The tomato-red field with six polychrome radiating square reserves containing starflowers and geometric motifs flanked by dense geometric trellis dividers all within a cream, medium indigo, yellow and aubergine zigzag striped border, partial end borders, small areas of repair, abrasions to surface
Approximately 6ft.2in. x 4ft.10in. (188cm. x 147cm.)
Warp: wool, red, Z2S, undulating, 5 warp threads to the cm
Weft: 1 shoot, lightly undulating, wool, red, Z2
Design wefts: horizontal on the front (between two wefts and over more warps) and vertical or diagonal on the back over one weft, wool, Z3, 4 shoots per cm.
