The burgundy field with a polychrome arabesque rosette and floral vine lattice overall within a slate-blue floral cartouche, floral vine and cypress tree border, cream floral guard stripes, repairs, areas of tinting
Approximately 5ft.7in. x 3ft.11in. (170cm. x 119cm.)

Warp: mercerised cotton, shiny white, Z3S, lightly undulating
Weft: 2 shoots, one undulating, the second slightly more undulating, cotton, white, Z3S
Pile: wool, Z1, symmetrical inclining to the left, H4 x V5/cm.
Sides: additional light blue wool shoot, Z2S bound together with two additional warp threads, partly extending as a selvedge into the knotted area for 1 to 3 cm., the foundation weft wound around the first warp thread.
