Lot Essay

The 'Zejwa' design is extremely rare to find in soumac weave. Its relationship to the Seychour 'sunburst' medallions is obvious, but it is only from the border that the Seychour attribution can be definitely made. The inner border is a later and much more compact version of the early border seen on lot 175.
