PERSIA, 19TH CENTURY
The plain buff field, in a golden yellow border of indigo interlaced trefoil and similar panels, overall wear, minor circular stain and overcast sides
Approximately 2ft.5in. x 2ft.6in. (73cm. x 76cm.)
Warp: cotton, white, Z4-6S, Z3S2Z, considerably depressed, slightly undulating, occasionally fully depressed
Weft: cotton, 1 or 2 shoots, cotton, pink or sometimes blue, S6, one slightly undulating, the other usually strongly undulating
Pile: wool, Z2, asymmetrical open to the left, H4.2 x V4.4/cm.
Lower End: warps and wefts woven together to form plain flatweave
