A French giltwood and Aubusson salon suite
In the Louis XVI style, last quarter 19th Century
Comprising a canapé, a pair of bergère, a pair of tub chairs, four side chairs and a rectangular stool: each upholstered in an Aubusson pictoral tapestry depicting eighteenth century figures in landscape, with foliage, birds and dogs, the canapé with an arched reeded top-rail centred by a foliate-carved wreath, with rectangular panelled sides, also with Aubusson tapestry, supported by fluted tapering uprights, between a cushioned seat, the fluted frieze with ribbon-tied foliate festoons, on fluted bun feet, the back with some gilding and veneer loss, the armchairs upholstered with Aubusson panels to the sides and backs
The stool: 35½in. (90cm.) wide; 20½in. (52cm.) high; 16in. (41cm.) deep
