AN ANSBACH (THE HAGUE-DECORATED) PART TEA AND COFFEE-SERVICE
Circa 1775

Each piece painted with gallants and companions or peasants at various pursuits in wooded landscape vignettes flanked by scattered flower-sprays beneath gilt C-scroll borders, the covers with pink bud finial and the handles with coloured flower terminals, comprising:
A baluster coffee-pot and domed cover
A bullet-shaped teapot and cover
A hot milk-jug (extended star crack to one side)
A circular sugar-bowl and cover (minute rim chip to cover)
An arched rectangular tea-caddy, mounted in white-metal and with later white-metal cover (minute chip to one angle)
A slop-basin
A shaped quatrefoil spoon-tray
Six teacups with plain loop handles (one handle cracked, one with rim chip)
Six coffee-cups with plain loop handles (one handle repaired)
Twelve saucers
(some rubbing to gilding), some pieces with various Pressnummern, each piece with overglaze blue enamel stork mark, the tea-caddy with underglaze blue A mark
