The cow standing to the right, a milkmaid before her, offering the animal a bundle of hay, on a rocky mound straw-strewn base (cow's horns restored and damaged, one ear, boy's neck and straw bundle restored, other minor chips)

Lot Essay

First modelled by Falconet after Hüet in 1759, the terracotta model is at the factory at Sèvres
