A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU AND WHITE MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK
Late 18th early 19th Century
The circular enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, the beaded and channelled border within a vase-shaped drum surmounted by a reeded, waisted neck and pinecone finial flanked by winged Cupids, one holding a bow and the other a quiver, both putti terminating in a scrolled acanthus tail and further vine and grape sprays, the reeded base mounted with foliate pendants, stiff-leaves and beaded collar above a spreading shaft and on twisted beaded ring, on stepped panelled plinth with ribbon-tied laurel and vine sprays and foliate paw feet, the dial signed Furet AParis, the marble slightly cracked to the base, minor losses to mounts
