One of a group of studies of the Ste Thérèse de Lisieux, based upon a photograph of the girl aged 3½ years with her sister. She was born in 1873 and entered the Carmelite Convent at Lisieux at the age of fifteen. After her death in 1897 two of her notebooks were published as 'The Story of the Soul'. She was beatified in 1923 and canonized in 1925.
