A RARE NORTH INDIAN SMALL-SWORD FOR THE EUROPEAN MARKET

CIRCA 1750

With German colichemarde blade of hollow-ground triangular section etched at the forte with strapwork and trophies, iron hilt (originally blued) inlaid in gold with scrolling foliated tendrils, and wooden grip bound with twisted gilt-copper wire and ribbon (grip later, some pitting overall)
