With twist octagonal barrel (lightly pitted) cut with eight grooves, with folding back-sight up to a range of 1000 yards, and originally fitted with windage-adjustable fore-sight (now missing), case-hardened scroll engraved patent breech with screw-in plug, signed scroll engraved case-hardened lock, engraved hammer (a contemporary replacement) with chiselled nose in the form of a fish-head, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip and fore-end, scroll engraved iron mounts (some light pitting), shield-shaped silver escutcheon, horn fore-end cap, iron sling mounts, and brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks
