With rifled rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrel, patent breech with two platinum lines and pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved tang, signed scroll engraved bolted lock (hammer spur replaced), figured walnut half-stock (bruised), chequered butt, scroll engraved iron mounts retaining some original blued finish, silver escutcheon engraved with initials, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end cap, set trigger, and iron-tipped ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
