BY FOULON, PARIS, FRENCH SILVER MARKS FOR 1782

With sighted barrel, the breech with gold-damascened decoration and the inscription 'Foulon Arquebusier Du Roy Rue St. Honoré A Paris' (gilding worn), and the barrelsmith's mark of Jean Leclerc, plain tang, signed rounded lock, figured walnut full stock (fore-end partly replaced), full plain silver mounts based, apart from the ramrod-pipes, on the French model 1763 service pistol, the butt-cap engraved 'No. 19', and original iron-capped ramrod, silver maker's mark of Henri Clavel
