TWO SCOTTISH DRESS DIRKS

THE FIRST MID-19TH CENTURY, THE SECOND BY LECKIE, GRAHAM & CO., MAKERS, GLASGOW, LATE 19TH CENTURY

The first with bright single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and with notched back bordered by a fuller on each face, baluster bog-oak grip carved with basketwork, the pommel set with an imitation cairngorm, and silver ferrule engraved with scrollwork, in original black leather-covered scabbard with side pockets for a by-knife and fork, the handles en suite with the dirk, the pierced mounts engraved en suite with the ferrule, the locket engraved with a crest, and with leather suspension strap; the second similar but with white-metal mounts engraved with thistles (chape and suspension strap missing, dirk cairngorm chipped)
