With tapering hollow-ground single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and bordered along the back on each side by a narrow fuller, stamped on each face of the forte with orb and cross marks and 'Andrea Ferara', the iron hilt composed of flattened bars (incomplete) springing from a pierced fluted upturned shell-guard on each side, lion's head pommel, wire-bound shagreen-covered wooden grip, and original internal guard-pad of leather faced in red cloth, in iron-mounted leather-covered wooden scabbard, probably original
