With etched twist octagonal sighted barrel rifled with eight grooves, signed in full in gold and with gold lines and band of gold foliage at the breech, patent breech chiselled with a chamois within a gilt border, platinum plug, long tang incorporting a folding peep-sight and chiselled and engraved with foliage and an eagle, flat lock fitted with safety-bolster and chiselled and engraved with a boar, and a stag pursued by two hounds, each with a gilt collar, figured walnut half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, cheek-piece inlaid with a white-metal chamois, scroll engraved steel mounts including trigger-guard, and hinged patch-box cover chiselled with a shooting scene, the former with spurred horn tang pierced with scrollwork, set trigger, vacant white-metal escutcheon, and original brass-tipped ramrod (forward sling mount missing, iron parts with surface patination)
