With swamped octagonal barrel (some surface pitting) cut with seven rounded grooves, brass fore-sight and iron single-leaf back-sight with chiselled scroll finial, signed breech engraved with a panel of strapwork at the rear, short tang engraved en suite, signed flat lock with enclosed wheel engraved with a horseman and a scene of the conversion of St. Hubert in a wooded landscape, the fence to the cock and cock-spring engraved with a lion-hunt, sliding pan-cover, figured walnut full stock carved with foliage in relief in front of the cheek-piece and inlaid on the butt with interlacing scrollwork in white staghorn framing shaped panels in rootwood and dark horn within white staghorn lines, sliding patch-box cover en suite, engraved indented iron trigger-guard with pierced and engraved finial, fluted fore-end, horn butt-plate with iron button, set trigger, dark horn ramrod-pipes and fore-end tip each with an inlaid white staghorn band, and original ramrod with horn tip en suite
