A 22-BORE FRENCH SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK PISTOL

With blued two-stage barrel slightly flared at the muzzle and punched and gilt with flowering foliage at the octagonal breech and silver fore-sight, engraved tang with prominent back-sight, signed flat bevelled lock (cock-retaining screw replaced) engraved with rococo ornament against a stippled ground, moulded figured walnut full stock carved behind the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe and inlaid with silver wire scrollwork on the butt, full silver mounts including pierced foliate side-plate, and eagle-head pommel, turned ramrod-pipes, and original ivory-tipped ramrod (slight wear overall)
