Luxor on the Nile

This view across the Nile is a variant of that lithographed by Louis Haghe for Roberts's Egypt and Nubia (see lot 90). The date 'March 1839' was presumably added later from memory. This is probably the original drawing done while Roberts was at Luxor from 27 November to 4 December 1838, perhaps finished at a later date.
