2 volumes, 8° (157 x 96mm). With blanks Δ4, ΗΗ6, ΣΣ10 and ΥΥ6. Woodcut Aldine device on title of first volume and last leaf of both volumes. (Lacking blank Φ6, ownership inscriptions neatly excised from free endpapers of both volumes, that in volume I repaired.) Early 19th-century dark blue straight-grained morocco gilt, g.e. (volume I rebacked with old spine laid down, volume II joints weak, corners rubbed), within a single modern slipcase. Provenance: William Bridge? (inscription in vol.I, dated 1845?); E.P.Jacobsen (book label).

EDITIO PRINCEPS of the complete Greek texts of Euripides. Although the title announced seventeen tragedies there are eighteen: Hercules Furens was added to the second volume. Renouard p.43; Adams E-1030. (2)
