The two works uniformly bound in olive morocco gilt, the covers tooled in imitation of a 16th-century Italian binding, spines gilt with raised bands, g.e., by Francis Bedford.

FINE COPIES. The first example is from the edition in which three Ragionamenti appeared for the first time, establishing a definitive text. The work takes the form of a discussion between an old Florentine cooper with his soul and became an immediate bestseller. An English translation appeared in 1568. (2)
