2° (483 x 366mm). Engraved throughout. Title, 71 plates (2 folding) the majority by Giovanni Francesco Venturini after Francesco Bufalini. (Small tear to lower blank margin of plate 4, occasional light spotting.) Contemporary vellum (lightly affected by damp). Provenance: Francesco Testa (presentation inscription, dated 1839, to:); Leonardo Trissias.

FIRST EDITION. A suite of engravings which is virtually a corpus of Roman renaissance and baroque church architecture. Included is the work of Michelangelo, Bernini, Carlo Fontana, Borromini, Vignola and others. Berlin Kat. 2672.
