SIGNED IMAIZUMI SEI, 19TH CENTURY
Decorated in underglaze blue with flying chidori above waves and the cover carved and pierced with clouds, three feet with flower- heads
26cm. diam. and 14.5cm. high

Lot Essay

Imaizumi-yaki also called Isuke-yaki, is from Ecchu province (Takaoka city, Toyama prefecture). The kiln was formed in the Tempo period (1830-44) by Hayashi Tosai. It is believed that the artist Uragami Harukoto from Kyoto was an enameller.
