AN AKODA-NARI KABUTO
SIGNED HARUTA MITSUSADA SAKU, BOWL LATE 15TH/EARLY 16TH CENTURY AND SHIKORO CIRCA 1750
A fine black lacquered sixteen-plate akoda nari hachi with typical tosei mabizashi, the hachi [bowl] is mounted with 16th Century copper gilt tehen kanamono, fukurin and igaki, kosho-no-kan and horo-tsune-no-kan to the rear, a mitsu-kuwagata dai secured to the mabizashi with three chrysanthemum headed rivets, the six-lame Hineno-jikoro black lacquered fukigaeshi with copper gilt fukurin and a gold lacquered katabami mon, possibly Shimazu family, (lacquer cracked and repaired)
