The cartouche-shaped padded back and rounded seat covered in floral tapestry, the arms with acanthus-edged backs and stylised lion-mask terminals on scrolled panel supports, on cabriole legs headed by scallop shells and on pad feet, restorations, the back legs replaced in walnut

The drawing-room chair, with its serpentined frame embellished with the acanthus-festooned shell badge of Venus combined with Bacchic lion-masks, is designed in the George II antique manner of the 1730s.
