The rectangular cavetto cornice above a single feather-banded door inset with a later bevelled plate with four re-entrant corners and enclosing two shelves and two walnut-lined drawers, with a single central candle-slide, the lower section with hinged slope enclosing a fitted interior with green velvet-lined writing-surface, pigeon-holes and six variously-sized walnut-lined drawers, above four graduated long drawers and on shaped bracket feet, the left side of the cornice replaced, restorations
