The heavy watered steel tapering straight blade with armour piercing tip, the hilt with an applied panel of rich clear amber glass at each side affixed with three gilt pins in the form of rosettes, a gilt- copper panel below with engraved scrolling floral designs, the spine with similar gilt quartered lozenges, the green velvet covered wooden sheath with elaborate gilt-copper mounts worked in repoussé with scrolling floral designs, a ridged band around the aperture, the lower terminal in the form of a bird's head curling round to rest on the sheath, negligible rubbing of the thick gilding, blade cleaned and with negligible pitting, slight chips to upper edges of hilt
