The cover formed of the upper third, silver bands above and below, the top in the form of a hemispherical amber bead with inset central diamond, the base fitted with a removable cylindrical inkwell, the exterior with an overall mother-of-pearl fish-scale pattern, slight loss and restoration in one area at base, one silver mount with crude brass replacement

The note to that entry mentions two further unpublished examples in the Turk ve Islam Museum, Istanbul, inv. nos. 4038 and 4040.
