Lancaster's have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1947 for Lt. Gen. Shanker Shum Sher, Military Attaché for Pakistan at the time. It appears to have been relatively little used.

The 'Twelve-Twenty' was introduced in answer to the demand for a superlatively lightweight 12-bore game-gun and this action combines the weight of a 20-bore with exceptional sectional strength. The Grant 'Lightweight' also incorporates this W. Baker patent action. Please see also lots 65 and 164
