The central cushion-cut diamond weighing 14.10 carats with baguette-cut diamond single-stone shoulders to the plain hoop

By family tradition the diamond was given by Prince Yousopoff to the present owner's father as a payment of gambling debts made during a poker game in Paris in 1929. The diamond was purported to have come from the crown that his mother wore during Czar Nicholas II's coronation.
