Oblong and on four shell, scroll and vine feet, with two acanthus leaf scroll bracket handles and anthemion, foliate scroll, shell and gadrooned border, the centre chased with a band of shells, scrolls, diaperwork, scalework and foliage, engraved with a coat-of-arms within foliate scroll mantling, the reverse later engraved with a presentation inscription, marked on reverse

The arms are those of Power, for Richard Power Esq., who became Barrister of the Middle Temple in 1792. He was the second son of John Power of Tullamaine, Co. Tipperary, who served as A.D.C. to Lord Clive at the battle of Placy. He married Jane, daughter of Adam Newman Esq., of Newberry, Co. Cork., Power died without issue. His eldest brother John was created a Baronet in 1836.
