Contemporary red velvet over wooden boards, the upper cover applied with an icon of two Evangelists painted on copper under a repoussé chased and engraved silver gilt oklad within openwork rays, by P.I. Olovianishnikov and Sons, St. Petersburg, within Greek key pattern border, the lower cover with applied brass central ornament and repoussé bun feet at corners, brass clasps (upper joint torn, spine loose), edges gauffered and gilt.
