Large 8° (283 x 190mm). 14 lithographic plates in black, 14 head- and 14 tailpieces in grey, two folding original charcoal and white gouache drawings and a separately-bound suite of plates printed in bistre, extra-illustrated with an additional original pen, ink and watercolour drawing, all by Dignimont. BINDING DESIGNED BY PIERRE LEGRAIN, executed in his studio ca. 1926-1927: purple crushed levant morocco with an abstract design, the front cover with onlaid vertical wavy bands of dark blue morocco, stars of black or orange morocco and thin bands of turquoise morocco, tooled with gold and iridium dots and fillets, part of the design repeated on the back cover, the flat spine divided into three sections by onlaid turquoise morocco bars, lettered in gilt, broad turn-ins tooled at head and foot with bars of massed gold dots, liners and endleaves of blue silk shot with gold thread, original wrappers bound-in, uncut (the spine very slightly discoloured), original morocco-backed and edged chemise and slipcase, the additional suite of plates bound in marbled wrappers matching that used on the chemise and slipcase, signed on front turn-in: Pierre Legrain.
