8° (159 x 96mm). Printed in italic type, Aldine device on title and at end. Tobacco-coloured crushed levant morocco gilt by Capé, ca.1860, sides framed by a black border, surrounding interlacing 16th-century-style strapwork design, all inlaid in black morocco, the whole outlined in single gold fillets; five raised bands on spine, two compartments lettered, the others with inlaid ornamentation, inner dentelles, liners and endpapers of marbled paper, gilt edges. In lined cloth wrapper and blue morocco solander case. Provenance: Edwin Holden (bookplate); Estelle Doheny (bookplate, sale Christie's New York October 17, 1988, lot 1031).
