The pewter wall-lights were inherited by Mary Lutyens from her father. They were then given by Mary Lutyens to her cousin, Lady Davina Woodhouse, daughter of Pamela, Countess of Lytton.
The electroplated wall-lights were acquired separately from the pewter wall-lights by Lady Davina Woodhouse. The attribution to Robert Lutyens is based on family recollections of their origin.
